For this regatta, they<br>sailed a good series with Karen helming and Brett in the crew. Using<br>there Doyle Sails they purchase for the 2007 winter series, (where<br>they won as well), they proved there sailing and driving skills to finish<br>on top.<br>From 4 Audi regattas, Doyle Sails powered yachts have now won<br>2 cars.<br>Other successful yachts at the Audi Regatta were:-<br>Brilliant- Ben 34.7- Howard Piggott- 1st IRC 3<br>Eudoria-John Sturrock, 2nd Classic Div.<br>MRZ-Phillip Rowe-3rd PHS1<br>Edake-Jeff Carter-4th PHS1<br>Sydney Restructure!<br>Its now been 4 months since we instigated major changes to the operating arrangements to our Sydney Loft.<br>Work has continued on as normal and all pick up and delivery of service work and new work is a s before. In<br>case you have heard things to the contrary:-<br>• Business is as usual at Doyle Fraser Sails in Sydney,<br>• Phone and emails have all remained the same,<br>• All new sails and service work is organise d as before. Whilst the service work is no longer completed<br>at Ruschcutters Bay all service work is collected and returned in time for your nrxt race.<br>• No need to visit the loft. We found that fewer and fewer people actually had time to visit the loft, so<br>now we offer a free pick up and delivery to all major yacht clubs. Sails@doyleaustralia.com<br>Page 2<br>Hong Kong to San Fernando<br>Race 2009.<br>The 2009 Hong Kong to San Fernando race was a<br>triumph for Doyle Sails. Not only did Strewth get<br>line honors, but 1st, 2nd and 4th boats on corrected<br>time in IRC were all powered by Doyle<br>Sails.<br>The fact that the honors were shared between<br>Doyle Sails Australia and New Zealand, shows the<br>wide consistency and value of the product. In the<br>Premier Cruising Division, Moonblue 2 was second,<br>Doyle Sails (partial) and Long Reef (Crowther<br>42) won the Multi-hull Division using Doyle Sails<br>although there was only one entrant in that division!<br>The recent Hong Kong Etchells National Championship<br>had Doyle Sails 1st, 2nd & 3rd.<br>Doyle Sails—Doing it Right.<br>Where ever you are.<br>Lexus Lincoln Regatta 2009.<br>From race records to IRC success, Doyle powered<br>boats dominated the Regatta.<br>In IRC, Reverie, a Beneteau 45 owned by Alan Woodward, sailed a consistent series to win both IRC and AMS at this<br>years Lexus Lincoln Regatta. Col Anderson from the Doyle Loft in Melbourne, has ben involved with Reverie from the<br>start. After a second in the Skandia Geelong week, they have improved to record an impressive win in Port Lincoln.<br>2nd In IRC was Secret Mens Business 3. (Geoff Boetcher).<br>In the Adelaide Lincoln race, Secret Mens Business 3, (Geoff Boetcher) beat the race record by approximatly 40<br>mins. The record was previously held by Skandia Wild Thing. Ideally suited to cruising and club race sails.<br>Contact 93614836 or sails@doyleaustralia.com for a quote today.<br>* Some colours limited.<br>1c New beach Rd, Rushcutters Bay,<br>NSW. 2011<br>02-93614836.<br>Farr 30 National Championships.<br>Laura,<br>I hope I am not to late for a testimonial on the recent F30 nationals.<br>The sails that Doyle came up with were very different to our previous sails both the north and quantum sails.<br>The main has a very flat lower third and quite a full head<br>The #2 is extremely flat with draft well forward.<br>The design gives only a tight band in which to sail well upwind but the boat tells you when you are there, and it was singing<br>The only problem with helming is that you have little time to really study the shapes.<br>Needless to say I feel the sails gave us a distinct advantage over our normal rivals sporting the north and quantum gear.<br>I have always searched for consistent height and have now a confidence that I have not previously had.<br>The speeds were comparable and the sailing is always tight. Our workers are very much dedicated to making the<br>best possible product. We have Todd Cunningham from Doyle head office in the USA who worked on projects<br>like Mirabella 5 and Maltese Falcon hands on training and overseeing every seam and stitch. Mark Fullerton<br>is also overseeing all general management and quality to ensure the product is perfect and on time.<br>With the time pressures of expensive manufacturing behind us we can put a lot more attention to detail into<br>every sail. This is what has really made the difference. Some of our major competitors have been manufacturing<br>overseas for over 20 years. All our design work is still done in Sydney by Michael Carter who has been<br>with the company for over 20 years. This insures the “heart” of the<br>sail comes from over 30 years of design history and experience<br>we have with Australian sailmaking .
